New approach to removal of hazardous Bypass Cement Dust (BCD) from the environment: 20Na2O-20BaCl2-(60-x)B2O3-(x)BCD glass system and Optical, mechanical, structural and nuclear radiation shielding competences
A.I. Elazaka,A.I. Elazaka,Hesham M.H. Zakaly,Hesham M.H. Zakaly,Shams A.M. Issa,Shams A.M. Issa,M. Rashad,M. Rashad,Huseyin Ozan Tekin,H. A. Saudi,V.H. Gillette,Turker Tekin Erguzel,A. G. Mostafa +12 more
TL;DR: It was found that the gradual addition of BCD content increases the hardness of the studied glasses and shielding properties such as the mass attenuation coefficient (μm), the effective atomic number (Zeff), and the effective electron density (Nel) increase as BCD fraction increases.

Enhancing the gamma-ray attenuation parameters of mixed bismuth/barium borosilicate glasses: Using an experimental method, Geant4 code and XCOM software
M.S. Sadeq,Ibrahim Bashter,Shaaban M. Salem,S.F. Mansour,H. A. Saudi,M.I. Sayyed,A. G. Mostafa +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors scrutinize the availability of borosilicate glassy systems doped with mixed heavy metals as radiation shielding attenuators; for this purpose, a glass system [20SiO 2 + 54B 2 O 3 +1NiO + xBi 2 O3 + (25-x) BaO], x = 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 mol.

Influence of CuO and Al2O3 addition on the optical properties of sodium zinc phosphate glass absorption filters
TL;DR: In this article, the optical bandgap has been calculated and found to decrease with increasing CuO concentration and this decrease becomes slower in the presence of Al2O3 which makes an increase in the bandgap at the the absence of CuO.

Structural and optical properties of nanocrystalline mayenite Ca12Al14O33 powders synthesized using a novel route
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of synthesis conditions on the crystal structure, crystallite size, microstructure, surface area SBET and optical properties was studied, and the results confirmed that well crystalline cubic mayenite phase was formed at low annealing temperature 800°C for 1-h.

Dielectric and optical properties of CuO containing sodium zinc phosphate glasses
TL;DR: In this article, the frequency and composition dependencies of the dielectric parameters were analyzed and discussed, and the optical properties of 45 P2O5-34 ZnO-(20−x)Na2O-1 Al2O3-xCuO====== glasses (0≤x≤5) were investigated.
