Social Goals and Speech Production: Effects of Multiple Goals on Pausal Phenomena
TL;DR: The authors examined various temporal and content features of multiple-goal messages on the assumption that these features are essential to the development of theory in this domain and found that messages developed in pursuit of more goals were characterised by slower speech onset latency, longer message duration, more frequent use of sociocentric sequences, and a higher rate of ideational repetitions.

Memory Representations of Compliance‐Gaining Strategies and Tactics
TL;DR: This paper examined memory for various features of compliance-gaining messages and found that people are generally proficient at remembering the tactical instantiations in a message but that memory for strategies (i.e., sequences of tactical acts) is generally poor.
