Health benefits and phenolic compounds of Moringa oleifera leaves: A comprehensive review.

Effect of solvent evaporation method on phenolic compounds and the antioxidant activity of Moringa oleifera cultivated in Southern Tunisia

Moringa oleifera Flowers extracts grown in Algerian Sahara were evaluated antidiabetic and antioxidant activity by means using divers established in vitro systems, such as α-Amylase inhibitory assay, DPPH radical scavenging assay, Phosphomolybdenum assay (PM) and Ferric reducing power assay (FRAP). Moreover, the total content of phenols, flavonoids and tannins from (MFCE) and various fractions was measured using colorimetric methods. Results demonstrated that TPC varied between 95,50  0,42 and 10, 49  0,053 mg GAE/g WE, while TFC was between 17,00  0, 011 and 2,47  0,014 mg GAE/g WE, In this study TTC ranged between 2,96 0,016 and 1,30 0, 014 mg GAE/g WE. All capacities of DPPH radical scavenging, Phosphomolybdenum (PM) and Ferric reducing power (FRAP) were found best in (MFEF) (IC50= 0,159± 0,004mg/ml, AEAC = 42.37 ± 0.28 mM and AEAC =104.05±0.41 mM respectively). Add to this (MFEF) showed the highest α-amylase inhibitory activity (I= 38,92 %).

The Antidiabetic, Antioxidant properties in vitro of Moringa oleifera Flowers extracts grown in Sahara of Algeria

Moringa oleifera Lam.(M.oleifera Lam) is a Moringa genus in the Moringaceae family that is high in nutrients and has a wide range of applications.Phenolic compounds are widely found in plants and have various health benefits for the human body.With its high content and wide variety of phenolic compounds, M. oleifera Lam has been widely studied for its health benefits.The phenolic compounds in M. oleifera Lam (MOPCs) can be a potential source of functional food ingredients in pharmaceutical and industrial applications.Numerous studies have shown that MOPCs have antioxidant, anti-obesity, anti-diabetic, and antibacterial effects.Although the research on MOPCs has been gradually increasing, the extraction, isolation, identification, biological activities, and comprehensive application of MOPCs need a more systematic summary and generalization.Therefore, this paper reviews the isolation and extraction methods, structure identification, biological activities, and comprehensive applications to provide a further reference for the research and application of MOPCs. 

Phenolic compounds from 
 Moringa oleifera Lam.: Extraction, separation and identification, biological activities, and comprehensive applications

Moringa oleifera and M. peregrina are robust and fast-growing trees. These trees are considered some of the most highly valued trees worldwide because of their properties and uses. This study aimed to investigate and determine the content of phytochemical and nutrient compounds in the fresh leaves and the mature seeds of both M. oleifera and M. peregrina. The experimental data analysis showed that all four extracts were rich in proximate minerals, fatty acids (FA), and un-saponified and polyphenolic components. The total percentages of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids compounds obtained from the leaves and seeds of M. oleifera and M. peregrina were (45.02 and 54.93%), (10.80 and 89.19%), (37.13 and 62.8%), and (11.95 and 88.03%), respectively. The major polyphenols compositions were identified as gallic acid, chlorogenic acid, methyl gallate, and coffeic acid. The outcomes of the present study indicate that the leaves and seeds of Egyptian Moringa (M. oleifera and M. peregrina) contain various phytochemical and nutrient compounds, which can provide several health advantages and play an important role in the metabolism of the human body, especially in diseases such as atherosclerosis, heart disease, obesity, and high cholesterol and triglycerides.

Characterization of Phytochemical and Nutrient Compounds from the Leaves and Seeds of Moringa oleifera and Moringa peregrina

In the present research the crude extract and all fractions of Moringa oleifra leaves grown in Tamanrasset, were examined for its antioxidant activities by using three different assays such as DPPH scavenging activity, superoxide anion scavenging activity and phosphomolybdenum capacity.The quantitative estimation of total phenolics, flavonoids and tannins content additionally was calculated by spectrophotometric methods.The results showed that the extracts contained total phenolic compound at concentration of 32.985±0.07 to 309.418 ± 0.71 (mg GAE/g EW) and higher total flavonoids contents of 5.192 ± 0.17 to 44.695 ± 0.23 (mg QE/g EW), for total tannins contents of 3.864 ±0.07 to 15.148 ± 0.66 (mg/g). It also this experiment found out that each extract confirmed a good antioxidant. Consequently, it can be concluded that the phenolic compounds content may be answerable for the good activities of Moringa oleifra leaves.
