Pharmacogenetic prediction of clinical outcome in advanced colorectal cancer patients receiving oxaliplatin/5-fluorouracil as first-line chemotherapy.
Laia Paré,Eugenio Marcuello,Albert Altés,E. Del Rio,L Sedano,J Salazar,A Cortés,Agustí Barnadas,Montserrat Baiget +8 more
TL;DR: The hypothesis that enhanced DNA repair diminishes the benefit of platinum-based treatments is supported, as the usefulness of the excision repair cross-complementing 1, xeroderma pigmentosum group D, XPD, XRCC1 and GSTP1 polymorphisms as predictors of clinical outcome in patients is studied.
Limited T cell response to SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccine among patients with cancer receiving different cancer treatments

TL;DR: The ONCOVac study as discussed by the authors evaluated the immunogenicity of mRNA-1273 vaccine in terms of humoral and cellular response in patients with cancer (PC) and showed that PC showed a similar humoral response but a lower T cell response following two doses of MMR vaccination.

Differences in the Molecular Profile between Primary Breast Carcinomas and Their Cutaneous Metastases
Silvia González-Martínez,David Pizarro,Belén Pérez-Mies,Tamara Caniego-Casas,José Luis Rodríguez-Peralto,Giuseppe Curigliano,A Cortés,María Gion,Javier Cortes,José Palacios +9 more
TL;DR: It is observed that the surrogate molecular type of breast cancer with an increased risk to metastasize to the skin was triple negative and the TN molecular type has a greater risk of developing skin metastases.

Benito,Massimo Chiesa,Susana Bezares,Rosalía Caballero,Carlos Jiménez-Cortegana,Vijctor Sanchez-Margalet,Federico Rojo +26 more
TL;DR: In this paper , a new chemo-immunotherapy combination based on the anti-PD1 monoclonal antibody pembrolizumab and the pyrimidine antimetabolite gemcitabine was evaluated in HER2-advanced breast cancer patients previously treated in the advanced setting, in order to explore a potential synergism that could eventually obtain long term benefit in these patients.
