Enhanced Optical and Antibacterial Activity of Hydrothermally Synthesized Cobalt-Doped Zinc Oxide Cylindrical Microcrystals.
Awais Khalid,Pervaiz Ahmad,Abdulrahman I. Alharthi,Saleh Muhammad,Mayeen Uddin Khandaker,Mohammad Rashed Iqbal Faruque,Abdulhameed Khan,Israf Ud Din,Mshari A. Alotaibi,Khalid Alzimami,A. Alfuraih,D.A. Bradley +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, cobalt-doped zinc oxide microcrystals (MCs) are prepared by using the hydrothermal method from the precursor's mixture of zinc chloride (ZnCl2), cobalt II chloride hexahydrate (CoCl2·6H2O), and potassium hydroxide (KOH).
Vitamin D production in UK Caucasian and South Asian women following UVR exposure
O. A. Hakim,Kathryn Hart,P McCabe,Jacqueline L. Berry,Robertson Francesca,Lesley E. Rhodes,Nicholas M. Spyrou,A. Alfuraih,Susan A Lanham-New +8 more
TL;DR: Findings indicated no effect of ethnicity and skin tone on the production of vitamin D; baseline level and length of exposure were the critical factors.

Magnetic Targeting and Delivery of Drug-Loaded SWCNTs Theranostic Nanoprobes to Lung Metastasis in Breast Cancer Animal Model: Noninvasive Monitoring Using Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
TL;DR: Combination of noninvasive MRI to localize sensitively the tumor sites, with specific positioning of magnets that can enhance the magnetic targeting of nanocarriers, allowed increasing the treatment efficiency.

Photon energy absorption and exposure buildup factors for deep penetration in human tissues
O. Kadri,A. Alfuraih +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the gamma-ray isotropic point source buildup factors, specifically, the energy absorption buildup factor (EABF) and exposure buildup factor, were estimated using the Geant4 (version 10.4) Monte Carlo simulation toolkit.

Search for Tissue Equivalent Materials Based on Exposure and Energy Absorption Buildup Factor Computations
O Kadri,A. Alfuraih +1 more
TL;DR: A series of TEMs designed to radiographically imitate human tissue at diagnostic photon energies are described and it is found that SB3, Glycerol trioleate, and MS15 perfectly mimic cortical bone, fat, and muscle tissues, respectively.
